Stefano Zanero, PhD Stefano Zanero, PhD, Politecnico of Milano Technical University

Stefano Zanero received a Ph.D. degree in Computer Engineering from the Politecnico of Milano technical university, where he is currently an Assistant Professor (Ricercatore). His research interests include the development of Intrusion Detection Systems based on unsupervised
learning algorithms, security of web applications and computer virology.  He has been a speaker at international scientific and technical conferences, and he is the author and co-author of books and articles published in international, peer reviewed journals and conferences. He is a member of the board of the "Journal in Computer Virology", and acts as a reviewer for the "ACM Computing Reviews" and "IEEE Security & Privacy", as well as various primary international conferences. He is a member of the IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers), the ACM (Association for Computing Machinery), and a founding member of the Italian Chapter of ISSA (Information Systems
Security Association), of which he serves as a member of the International Board of Directors. He has also been a columnist for Computer World Italy, and has been awarded a journalism award in 2003.  Since 2004 he is a partner and CTO of Secure Network, a firm specializing in information security training and consulting, based in Milan.

Randy V. Sabett, J.D., CISSP Randy V. Sabett, J.D., CISSP, Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal LLP

Randy V. Sabett, J.D., CISSP, is a partner in the Washington, D.C. office of Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal LLP, where he is a member of the Internet, Communications & Data Protection practice group. He counsels clients on information security, privacy, IT licensing, and patents, dealing with such issues as Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), digital and electronic signatures, federated identity, HIPAA,Gramm-Leach-Bliley, Sarbanes-Oxley, state and federal information security laws, identity theft, and security breaches. Mr. Sabett is a commissioner for the Commission on Cyber Security for the 44th Presidency and teaches Information Policy as an adjunct professor at George Washington University. He is also a frequent lecturer and author on issues involving information security. He can be reached at rsabett@sonnenschein.com.

Julia H. Allen, Senior Researcher Julia H. Allen, Senior Researcher, Software Engineering Institute

Julia H. Allen is a senior researcher within the CERT® Program at the Software Engineering Institute (SEI), a unit of Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA. Allen is engaged in developing and transitioning executive outreach programs in enterprise security and governance as well as conducting research in software security and assurance.

Prior to this technical assignment, Allen served as acting Director of the SEI for an interim period of 6 months as well as Deputy Director/Chief Operating Officer for 3 years. Before joining the SEI, she was a vice president in embedded systems software development for Science Applications International Corporation and managed large software development programs for TRW (now Northrop Grumman).

In addition to her work in security governance, Ms. Allen is the author of The CERT Guide to System and Network Security Practices (Addison-Wesley, June 2001) and the CERT Podcast Series: Security for Business Leaders (2006-2009). She is a co-author of Software Security Engineering: A Guide for Project Managers (Addison-Wesley, May 2008). Her degrees include a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (University of Michigan), an MS in Electrical Engineering (University of Southern California), and an executive business certificate (University of California – Los Angeles).
